Chocolate Tour + La Fortuna Waterfall

This cultural experience combines the exploration of Costa Rican chocolate tradition with the natural majesty of La Fortuna Waterfall, creating a day that satisfies both the palate and the adventurous spirit. The tour begins at a family-owned farm specializing in organic cacao, where participants learn about the complete «bean-to-bar» process.
The chocolate experience includes a tour of Creole cocoa plantations of more than 96 years, considered among the best in the world. Participants observe the process of cultivation, harvesting, and fermentation of cacao, while learning about the historical importance of chocolate in pre-Columbian cultures and its ceremonial significance as «food of the gods.»

The practical part of the tour allows visitors to actively participate in the brewing process: roasting the beans, husking, grinding into traditional metate, and preparing ceremonial hot chocolate with spices such as cinnamon, vanilla, and chili. The tasting includes more than 37 varieties of tropical fruits, stingless honey, and artisanal chocolate bars with different concentrations of cocoa.
After the cultural experience, the adventure continues with a visit to La Fortuna Waterfall, where participants can swim in the crystal clear waters while enjoying the 70-meter freefall show. This combination of culture and nature creates a comprehensive experience that connects ancestral traditions with the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
