Birdwatching in Monteverde represents one of the most extraordinary ornithological experiences in the world, with more than 400 species recorded in the region, including 30 endemic species and numerous migratory species that use the area as a biological corridor. Specialized ornithological guides possess encyclopedic knowledge about the behavior, habitats, and migration patterns of resident and visiting birds, ensuring successful sightings even for novice birders.
The experience focuses on the search for emblematic species such as the resplendent quetzal, considered one of the most beautiful birds in the world, the three-barbed bellbird with its distinctive call that resonates miles away, and an incredible diversity of hummingbirds including endemic species such as the fire-throated hummingbird.
